about

I have been walking in a straight line for as long as I possibly could be walking in a straight line, bouncing and bundling and winding up widening valleys and vales and hills, little crevices
violent squirrels and foxes would war with me for territory but I don't claim any space, don't claim any space of my own.
no Lawrence you are a free soul, unchanged by the land, measuring time through distance and what have you
little etchings on a notepad mark the dates when the sun goes down and when the sun comes up I draw pictures of all the people I see, lying on side of the road, sometimes ribs pointing out
but I don't want to think about that, smile! big wide toothy smile for the trees curling upwards in space, unfurling branches like beasts, not quite alive in the same way as the other things that are alive, like the birds and the bees, but alive in the same way that the grass pokes through the shale, powerful little shoots
I know leaves, sometimes I make waxyleaves and daisies into a wreath and then I put it on and look down at a puddle and smile at my reflection. like an old streched out piece of leather my face warps and folds in sunburnt places but transforms like a mask into someone else entirely then snaps right back into its original place. If I ever find a person I wear one face, and may have a conversation, and if the person wants to talk then they are a gift from the sun, an unbridaled source of energy and inspiration. Lawrence you know how to make a person unfold like flower and spill out the nectar and pollen of their souls, their dusty, honey souls mixing and turning into a paste which Lawrence you could smear onto a piece of birch back and make a circle and call it the sun, and then give it to the person and say, here you go, here is a piece of the sun and it is a gift from me to you, since you were a gift from the sun to me.

lyrics

Lifting the God-head with big red balloons
On an impotent island singing slave monger tunes
Gold coins in a metal tube sunk deep beneath the sea
It's a broken down hollowed out ideology

Later that evening I walked home alone
You picked at your plate you broke every bone
You kept whispering things to that wide-faced friend
I didn't know that man, didn't know to pretend

Bean-sprouts, streetlamps switched on behind me
The sky was so red the road was so blue
I'm mad about you, I'm mad about you
I'm mad about you, I'm mad about you

And now I look up, and he's off on a rocket ship
Sailing to space in a yellow cocoon
Rumblings below me, there might be an earthquake
And I can't stop humming those space-miner tunes
Oh what did you say to that wide-faced friend
Oh what did you say to that wide-faced friend
Oh What did you say to that wide-faced friend
What did you say to that wide-faced
Oh what did you say to that wide-faced friend

Because I'm mad about you, I'm mad about you
I'm mad about you, I'm mad about you
Because I'm mad about you, I'm mad about you
